Valentine’s Day in Madrid

Let's Celebrate
Valentine's Day in Madrid
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the excitement is building here in Madrid! The most romantic holiday of the year is all about celebrating with that special someone, and if you are in Madrid on the 14th February, AIL Madrid is here to do the thinking for you, and show you some Valentine’s plans so you have an unforgettable Valentine’s plan!

A Romantic Meal – perfect Valentine’s Day in Madrid

The passion of Flamenco – a great
Valentine’s Day idea in Madrid
A tried and tested Valentine’s Day classic is to take your loved one out for a romantic meal – and Madrid has an abundance of perfect places for an intimate dinner for two. One really memorable experience would be a meal and flamenco show at Corral de la Moreria, Madrid’s oldest flamenco “tablao”. Flamenco is famous for its passion and intensity, making it a great choice for Valentine’s Day!

You could also visit the aptly-named Con Amor, a luxurious restaurant in Madrid where the entire theme is love! Whether you opt for a delicious individual meal or a meal to share, you’re bound to have a fantastic Valentine’s Day in a restaurant dedicated to love! Check out the menu and you will see what we mean…

If you and you’re partner share a taste for French cuisine, we suggest El Viejo León, the oldest French restaurant in Madrid, which prides itself on high quality ingredients and personal service! This place has welcomed the Spanish Royal family, and if it’s good enough for them, it’s certainly good enough for us too!

Cinema in Madrid this Valentine’s Day

If you’re more of a laid back and low key couple, why not go to one of the many cinemas in Madrid and take in a movie together. In a city as cosmopolitan and creative as Madrid, there is something to suit all tastes!

Cine Doré Madrid – a great
Valentine’s day date!
There’s nothing quite like seeing a film in the original language (if you’ve ever been distracted by dodgy dubbing, you’ll understand), so we recommend Yelmo Cinemas, which show original films with Spanish subtitles. They are dotted all over Madrid, but the most central is the Cine Ideal, a minute’s walk from Sol and surrounded by bars and restaurants for you to visit after seeing the film.

On the other hand, if you are into Hitchcock, foreign films and cult Indie classics, visit the film buff Mecca of Cine Doré. There are only a few screenings per day, but in such a historic and beautiful building, and with such eclectic films on show, you’re sure to make a big impression with this Valentines Date idea!

Nightlife in Madrid this Valentine’s Day

In case you didn’t already know, Valentines’ day this year falls on a Friday – party time! If you’re single in Madrid this Valentine’s Day, you are in for a real treat! The nightlife in Madrid is the best in the world and there is something to suit everyone! Round up your single friends and head out to some of the best nightspots in the city

Calle Cava Baja, situated in the fashionable La Latina neighbourhood, is always popular for drinks and laughs with friends, and from there you can go to any one of Madrid’s great nightclubs. As well as the bigger and more well-known clubs like Kapital and Joy, there are hundreds of smaller places where the ambience is less wild and more chatty. In Madrid, there is a bar for everyone, and on a Friday night, you’re sure to have a great night!

Madrid is a really romantic city – with beautiful architecture, situated in the mountains, and boasting a vast array of things to see and do. If you’re going to be in Madrid this Valentine’s day, you’ve hit the jackpot. And if not… book your visit for next year!
